Jeanne Crain, the winsome beauty who specialized in frothy film comedies in the 1940’s and won an Oscar nomination for her starring role as a black girl passing for white in the Elia Kazan movie ”Pinky,” died on Sunday at her home in Santa Barbara, Calif. Ms. Crain appeared in 64 films and many television shows in her long career, playing opposite leading men like Frank Sinatra, Kirk Douglas and William Holden. NY Times.
