Jayne Mansfield: American actress, born Vera Jayne Palmer 19 April 1933, Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania; died 29 June 1967, age 34, Slidell Louisiana; automobile accident.
Mansfield married and bore a daughter at age 17, then attended university before going to Hollywood in 1954. She appeared in B-Grade movies and TV from 1955 to 1967, was Playboy’s Playmate of the Month February 1955, married and divorced celebrity bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay and bore four more children.
While travelling between nightclub appearances in Biloxi Mississippi and New Orleans, Mansfield died when her car drove into the rear of a slow-moving tractor.
