Cindy Carol: star of Gidget Goes To Rome (1963). Born Carol Annette Sydes in 1941, she followed her sister Deborah and brother Anthony into television acting. She changed her name to Cindy Carol to play Gidget, and followed the movie with a supporting role in Dear Brigitte (1965) alongside Bill Mumy, Jimmy Stewart and Fabian, and a lead role in the first teen soap opera, Never Too Young (ABC 27 Sep 1965 – 24 Jun 1966). Then she retired from acting and, according to the internet, became a teacher like her father.
