I came to California for two weeks after winning Miss U.S.A. and at that time Universal Studios was a sponsor and they give you a contract so they can cash in on your publicity value. So I kind of saw what it was all about and it was becoming very enjoyable. Universal had a school at the time that included people like Rock Hudson, Clint Eastwood, Mamie Van Doren, Tony Curtis, Barbara Rush, Jack Kelly, Richard Long…there was a whole great bunch and it was a big family.
