Kate Manx: American actress born Kathrynne B. Mylroie 19 October 1930, Akron Ohio; died 15 November 1964, age 34, Torrance California; overdose of sleeping pills.

Manx began her career on Broadway and was briefly married to a wealthy Broadway producer. After a couple of TV appearances, she starred in two feature films made by her husband, Leslie Stevens, who would write and producer The Outer LimitsBuck Rogers in the 25th Century and Battlestar Galactica.

Having divorced Stevens, Manx was staying at the house of her new lover, Hollywood neurologist Samuel Stromelli, when she overdosed on sleeping pills, leaving a 2 year old son.
